Supplies & Training Equipment
Here's what you'll need for class:

Flat collar
(cloth or leather)
choke chains or prong collars are not permitted.

6 foot leash
(cloth or leather)
NO retractable leashes, please!

Fanny pack, bait bag, or other pouch to hold treats

A "bait bag" provides easy access to treats, promotes better timing
of rewards, and leaves your hands free for hand signals and leash-handling.

Nutritious, SOFT texture treats
Examples: Turkey hotdogs, non-fat cheese, cooked chicken, or Natural Balance roll. Cut these yummy treats into small, bite-size pieces - about the size of a raisin.
Kibble, biscuits, or hard, crunchy treats are not suitable for class.

PLEASE...
Call me if your dog has any dietary restrictions,
so we can discuss alternative training rewards.

DO NOT feed your dog a full meal before class,
as food is used as both motivation and a reward.

DO give your dog light exercise before each class.

Classes are held outdoors - so, dress accordingly:
Rubber-soled shoes, hat and sunscreen are recommended!

If your dog pulls on leash a great deal, I may recommend a Premier Easy Walk Harness
or a Gentle Leader head halter - both are available at better pet stores.
For more information on these products, please visit: www.premier.com.
I will give specific recommenations for equipment after meeting your dog at the first class session.
