Named in honor of my original
"Devil Dog", Ripley, Devil Dog Ranch started off as just a virtual ranch.

It existed solely as a showcase for
dogs impounded at the North Central shelter in need of rescue or adoption.

Since moving to a real mini-ranch, DDR has expanded its dog training services, continues to offer local rescue and adoption resources, and is preparing to open an online vintage & collectibles store - proceeds to support rescue dogs.

"Behavioral problems" due to a lack of simple training is the most often cited reason for giving up a family dog.

Reversing this trend has been my primary motivation as a trainer. I teach people how to communicate more effectively with their dogs so they can enjoy their relationship at its full potential.

As a Certified Pet Dog Trainer and professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, I enthusiastically promote reward-based training methods - highly effective for training any dog, regardless of age, breed or temperament.

I am active in our local rescue and humane community; as founder-director of the Echo Park Animal Alliance — a non-profit animal charity, behavior consultant to the Bill Foundation, an L.A. based dog rescue group, and as an affiliate of the Rescue and Humane Alliance L.A.

From 2003-2007 my position as Director
of Canine Training and Enrichment at
the Glendale Humane Society allowed me
to combine my passion for rescue with
my extensive knowledge of training and behavior. I selected all dogs for GHS and developed many new enrichment and adoption incentive programs including Volunteer Mentoring and Old Friends; Seniors for Seniors. While there, I personally facilitated over 1000 successful dog adoptions.

I presently live in rustic Tujunga
with my beloved pack of rescued dogs.
